Measurements and suggestions:
If taking measurements on the body, as pictured, tape should not be snug.
If measuring clothing, make sure it's laying flat.
The following dimensions are for a mens large.
That would be a 42-44" chest and 33-34" sleeve.
Pants size 36X32.
Suit style vest: 4 panels that measure at least 1 foot by 2 ½ feet
casual vest with patch pockets: add another panel that is 1'X2'
hunting vest: 5 panels 16"X36"
sport coat: 6 panels 2'X3 1/2'
long coat: 6 panels 2'X 4 1/2"
shirt:5 panels 2'X3 1/2'
pants: 4 panels 1'X 3 1/2'
skirts depending on cut vary please call for advice
We stock a variety of leather. If you are a little short we can add what is needed for an additional cost. We will also make suggestions on style of garment depending on your skins.
Deerskins are great for shirts, jackets and pants. Most of the hides come in natural in color with no finish on them. They are hard to keep clean this way because the skins pores are open. If you have a collection of them, we can send them out to be glazed and or dyed a darker color.
Any hair on hides we suggest a vest or jacket. Sitting on the short hair causes it to break quickly.
Elephant has a very distinctive grain. We recommend jackets and coats made from ears, belly and thinner sections. The thicker sections are great for bags and cases.
